Apparently, many people are selling private label rights (PLR) eBooks online. This is not necessarily a problem, but consider a few things before you decide to purchase any type of private label rights eBook that you desire to place on your website.

Although some private label rights eBooks allow YOU to profit financially, many others only benefit the individual responsible for their development. Some books are considered brandable, while the purchase of others includes Master Resale rights.

Here's a breakdown of what you can expect when you buy the different kinds of PLR eBooks

PLR - or Private Label Rights eBooks: These are PLR eBooks that you can buy, and resell or give away. You should review the license agreement carefully. Many times these eBooks have limited use. The best use is that you can sell them and make a profit. Or, you can use them as a freebie to get opt-in subscribers. Unfortunately, most basic private label rights eBooks cannot be changed and usually include a link back to someone else's site. Using these PLR eBooks, you can easily add a new name to your list (which is good), but the writer of the PLR eBook also gets free traffic from you.

Master Resale Rights: Most books that fit this description allow the new owner to change a few things in the book and then sell them to someone else. This form of PLR eBook is more beneficial than the previous kind of PLR eBook because these contain a file that you are able to change. Be careful to check though, because some do not. If this original file is not contained in the book, the license is still useful because both the graphics and the sales letter have already been prepared. Posting this eBook on your website and making a profit from it can usually be done fairly quickly. This book will probably contain both the name and the website of the original distributor, so that site will still benefit from free traffic through your site's visitors.

Brandable eBooks - These are the best type of eBooks to purchase. Many are not distributed with a complete set of graphics, but you CAN include your Affiliate link in the PDF file and keep all of the acquired affiliate profits. In addition, most include a 3-D picture of the eBook, so there is no need to create cover graphics for your website.

Recently, I did encounter an example of a bad brandable eBook. I bought it, and located one link in that eBook that was brandable. There were, however, TEN other links in that eBook that were not brandable. Just think about that. I unloaded that book immediately! Although I could have made a sale from that single affiliate link, every one of the other links in that book were branded with a different affiliate link (not mine!)

The problem is, you will never know this until after purchasing the brandable eBook, unless the sales page specifically offers this information.

Now you should have enough information about brandable eBooks to make a wise decision. Your choice will depend on what you want to do with the brandable book or PLR. Just remember that your visitors will probably keep this eBook for a long time, and it's always good to know that YOUR affiliate link is ready and waiting for them in your Brandable eBook.
