A lump in my back has been diagnosed as cancer.
I start radiation Monday. I started the topical chemotherapy friday. UGH.
Let's hope it is as successful as my radiation treatments last fall. The hope is to reduce the tumor and then if need be, go in and surgically remove what's left of it. I'll be doing radiation/chemo til the first part of June.
But as before, thankful that these treatments exist and are available to me.
Keep good thoughts, please.

I'm going to pray here so that I don't forget. Lord, I ask you to surround Tere with your loving, caring healing arms of protection. Guide her in being obedient to the after-care advice she is given. Lord, I ask you to perfect the healing in her body, soul and spirit. Let your will be done, and let your kingdom come to Tere and her family. Guide the hands of the surgeon, give him or her supernatural power to move swiftly and accurately. Let healing come completely and let Tere come out of this valley with a powerful testimony that will touch other souls. In Jesus' Name. Amen

Thanks to you all for the sweet words, encouragement and prayers. Thanks Pat, I've claimed the healing.
Life has a little tiny grey cloud from time to time. But still mostly bright and sunny!
I'm just a teeny bit cranky about the topical chemo. It blisters and burns your skin off. It leaves the area raw. Ouch. My area is about the size of a tennis ball so it's a big ol' spot. The chemo then goes in for the kill and attacks the crazy cells that won't quit dividing and multiplying. It's a miracle really but still it just plain hurts.
There, I'm done sniveling now.
I'll just suck it up and get on with it.
Your support is always so helpful.
Thanks again,
Tere

God Bless you Tere. I was saddened to read this, but I know you will pull through with flying colors. It's just a rough spot in the road for you and you are allowed to snivel my friend. Snivel away and then fight like heck, and you'll be that much stronger.
Can I ask is this basal cell? My dad has fought that cancer for two decades now. He gets through it and so will you. It's just a royal pain, I know.

Tere, I'm just checking the boards as I was out of town for the weekend and just read the news. I wanted to let you know that I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this trial. You're such a strong woman that I KNOW you'll get through this with His help - and just think, then your girlfriends will have to take you on another spa trip! :-) I hope today's treatment went well and that you're at least feeling a tad above par!

Sending hugs, prayers, and positive mojo,
Gail

Thanks Carolyn and Gail.
To answer your ? Carolyn, it's squamous but we're certain it hasn't spread to any other area or organs so I'm sure it's going to be fine.
The basal cell is what I had on my nose and cheek last fall. I'm looking as pretty as a new pup in that area :o).
I'm just so glad, relieved, happy I don't have melanoma!
ok, enough about me.
Thanks again my friends, I do so appreciate your concern and good wishes.

Tere, I'm so sorry you have to go through this!

I know it can be very hard sometimes so I will pray for your body and attitude to both be strong.

Hang in there, Kiddo!

Linda
