Tere: Are you wanting to make this cake from scratch all the way? I have tried two methods, one receipe from Emeril Lagasse and one from a cake mix I purchased at Williams & Sonoma for $24 Emeril's recipe took me over an hour to prepare, not including bake time. The cake mix was a whole lot easier and much better tasting in my opinion. Emerils recipe called to use the ramekins and so did the cake mix, so I can only say that is all I've used, I'm sure a muffin tin would work too as long as you really grease it up because this type of cake seems to stick really bad if you don't. Let me know if you would like me to post Emeril's recipe and I will. Or if you would like to take a easier route you can get the cake mix at www.williams-sonoma.com or click here http://ww2.williams-sonoma.com/cat/pip.cfm?gids=fd286&pKey=cfodyumi&root=shop&src=catcfodyumi%7Cp1%7Crshop%2Fcatcfodi%7Cp1%7Crshop%2Fhme Ever since I tried this cake at Morton's Steak House, I've been hooked. My favorite use to be a nice slice of Cheesecake (Got a real good recipe for that) But I have come to love this chocolate cake and usally pick a restaurant based on whether they have it on their dessert menu. Your quite welcome Tere. Glad I could finally be of some help to someone instead of always being the recipient. LOL...I had never heard of these. I may have to try them. Have a great day. Marie |

I have a recipe I have tried. I made them in traditional tins so cook them about 8 minutes if you use traditional tins.Batter holds for 2.5 hours. 8 oz bakers cocolate 4 T butter 1/3 c. sugar plus extra for tins pinch of salt 3 eggs 1/3 cup flour Okay, when I made them I messed up and they still came out fantastic. grease tins with butter and dust with sugar. cream butter and sugar melt chocolate in microwave I used a mixture of bitter and semi add melted chocolate to butter mixture. add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each until batter no longer shiny. Add salt and flour use a standard ice cream scoop to fill tins. batter holds for 2.5 hours bake 8 minutes in a preheated 400 degree oven. They pop right out and take exactly 10 to prepare six 8 minutes to bake and are fantastic! My 6 year old made these for Valentine's Day,also daddy's birthday. |
