Has anyone upgraded to the new version? Mine is several years old and I am thinking of upgrading so I will have the capability of importing into TurboTax next year at tax time. Just wondering if the new version has very much of a learning curve. I know that it will be quite a bit of work to set up a new one, and am wondering if it will be worth it. Any imput would be appreciated. Marie |

Hi, Marie, I was using 2004 and am now using 2007. You don't really have to set things up again - your current data file will be converted. Remember to back up the old version just in case - once the data is converted you can't use it on the old version. The menus changed slightly and I am able again to email invoices - they stopped supporting that on the 2004 version. I don't think there are too many changes from 2007 to 2008. Let me know if I can be of help once you upgrade. Thanks, Bonnie ps I am also a CPA and am becoming a certified QB ProAdvisor. I just got the 2008 version and have not worked with it yet. |

Congrats Bonnie!!!...and thanks for your response. I am using a 2003 version and had a QB ProAdvisor set it up for me. She was not a basket person, however, and I think there are probably some changes I need to make.I also miss being able to email invoices. Of course, I am still doing it by using the PDF Redirect thing and saving it to a file and then attaching it to an email, but it is a lot extra work so I don't email as many as I used to. I'm not sure that my current QB's would convert because I have a new computer that my son built me for Chirstmas and I think I will put the new one on the new computer. thanks for offering to help. I am sure that I will be contacting you. Off to EBay to see what I can find. Blessings, Marie |

You are very welcome! Actually I don't think they offer a true upgrade anymore. (since 2006?) You would be installing the complete program either way. But if you don't want to lose past transactions, customer list, etc. you just have to back up the current file from 2003 and the 2008 version (or whatever you get from ebay) will convert it. I do hope you will contact me if I can help in any way. Bonnie |

Sorry, Bonnie, "upgrade" was the wrong word for me to use. I meant "buy" the 2008 version. :-) I will have to bother you once I get one to find out how to proceed since I will be putting it on a different computer than the one I have now. Thanks for being so willing to help!! May God Bless you. Marie |

I was correcting my own post about the "upgrade". I saw the 2008 version on ebay for around $125. I think Costco has it for $150. Anyone else find a better deal? I look forward to hearing from you, Marie. Bonnie |
