Anyone going to be going to the Dallas Gift Show this month? Anyone been in the past that can give me some advice? Just wondering if there are any tips to make it easier to navigate. I have been to gift shows before but not super large ones and this one intimidates me to think about. Here's the kicker: I will only be going for one day. Jan. 23. Anyone else going there that day? wanda -- i posted on the other board, but wanted to post here in case you didn't see it... anyway, when you first get to dmc, you'll need to check in (i'd recommend pre-registering and then just checking in when you get there - you can download the forms to fax in from their website)... when you check in, they'll give you a directory.... then you walk down the hall a little and you'll end up in the atrium... i'd sit down in the atrium and look through the directory for the vendors you are interested in checking out... i'd go visit their showrooms and then spend the rest of the time sampling products in the gourmet food market (in the wtc)... since most of your products are probably gourmet food items - focusing your time and energy over there would be the most productive way to spend your day... we are not currently planning on going... and i know steph is already booked up that day so she can't go... but i will check and see if i can work a day trip up there... if so, we'll have to meet for lunch or something... -- tracy -- for perfect gifts -- a pinstriped gift |

Wanda, I tried emailing you but it came back. Basically it's what Tracy said- need to preregister. I thought I had heard that you could now get a pass into the gourmet food market without going through all the "in triplicate" forms. You might ask about that if you want to concentrate on food vendors only since it's just one day. Email me with a current address and I'll forward the original email. |

Hey Wanda, It's me...Amber. Thanks for telling me about this message board. It has been so helpful. I am actually considering going to the Dallas trade show. I just heard about it yesterday from a rep from Amscan. She told me they were going to be at that show. I've been looking for one to attend and Dallas is only about 5 1/2 from here. Anyway...it's great that you post on here. You have such great advice and experience in this business. Have a great day! Amber...your friend from Arkansas |
