This was posted in the wrong place, and while I tried to move it, I couldn't quite get it right. So, I am copying it here. A_touch_of_class asked: Hello all! Hope everyone is having a GREAT week! Listen, I was wondering if anyone of you smart entreprenuers happens to know the easiest way to get your web site set up in several search engines on your own? We paid SO MUCH MONEY to a web site submission company only to be completely scammed! I have heard that many Gift Basket Professionals simply do it themselves! We would truly appreciate Any and All imput that any of you may have. We are not getting many hits and I know I can do some leg work on my own to help us out. Thanks so much in advance. P.S. I have read several postings and are very impressed with everyone's willingness top help others out! God Bless and I hope to hear from you guys soon. Raphael Martinez Director of Sales ATouchofClassGiftBaskets.com atouchofclassgiftbaskets@hotmail.com Joicereid replied: Raphael: You can learn how to optomize the site yourself. There are basics that are pretty much standard. The search engines do change the way they determine how they are going to list pages occasionally -- google is notoreous about this. I understand that Adriana has a power point presentation that she made at the last Jubilee and is selling it. That would probably be a good basic place to begin. If your website isn't optomized at all, even a few changes can make a big difference. When hiring someone else to optomize your site, you have to be so very careful as some of them do what is called "black hat optomization" (creating doorway pages, etc) that can get your site banned by the engines. My suggestion is to order Adriana's presentation and implement what she teaches. I haven't seen it but know that she knows what she is doing. Joyce, thank you for suggesting my presentation: it is probably the least expensive way for someone who wants to know how to optimize for the Search Engines themselves. Actually, even if you decide to outsource your SEO, going through the presentation I am offering will help you get educated. Here is a link to this presentation for those interested in taking a look: http://gbexchange.net/jubilee2006/search-traffic.shtml Rafael, you don't need to submit your site to the search engines: the best way to get your site indexed is to help the search engines find your site. Presentation sent: yes, it will work. PowerPoint had an option to Pack and Go a presentation, so that even those without PP can view it. Enjoy it! Adriana Copaceanu - Board Administrator Gift Professional Resource Center GiftBiz101
